Dr. Theanne Griffith is a neuroscientist and children's book author. She currently lives in New Jersey and works at Rutgers University. Her research investigates how our nervous system detects changes in temperature. Have you ever gone from a cool room with air conditioning to the hot summer outdoor air? Your nervous system is critical for detecting those changes and temperature and making you aware of them. But it’s not just your brain at work. You have another nervous system, called the peripheral nervous system, which allows you to feel these types of bodily sensations. Dr. Griffith will take you beyond the brain to understand more how the peripheral nervous system works and why it’s so important.
