Creating supportive and effective mentor-mentee relationships is a significant component of building successful careers in science. To develop and sustain a productive mentor-mentee dynamic requires regular nurturing and maintenance. In this workshop we will discuss the benefits of mentoring relationships and analyze case studies to examine two foundational areas to building strong mentoring relationships: communication and aligning expectations.
