BIN Seminar Series: Dr Corey Harwell

Join us for our next Black In Neuro Seminar! This time, we'll hear from Dr. Austin Coley,  presenting a talk titled, "Investigating mPFC valence-specific neuronal populations during anhedonia"

When: Friday, December 3, 2021
9 AM PT | 12 PM ET | 5 PM GMT

About Dr Austin Coley

Dr. Austin Coley is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Kay Tye's laboratory at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies and Adjunct Faculty in Cellular Neurobiology at The University of California-San Diego (UCSD). His work investigates the effect of neural circuits on behavior and state-dependent and region-specific cellular aberrations implicated in neuropsychiatric disorders. The goals of his project are to study the effects of dopamine (DA) modulation in mPFC valence-specific neuronal populations during anhedonia. To test this, he applies in vivo 2-photon calcium imaging and ex vivo whole-cell patch electrophysiology techniques to measure neuronal ensemble recruitment and synaptic plasticity in an anhedonic mouse model.
